Hello everyone!

It's been nearly a year since I last updated this blog. Forgive me. I was busy with my medical internship which was a stressful and taxing period for me. And as of right now my time is occupied with the upcoming medical boards this coming August. I've been reviewing and studying my brains out and tying up other loose ends for my hospital clearance. All in all, it has left me physically and mentally exhausted.

So much has happened the past year. Some good and some bad. But it was fun nevertheless.

Wishful wants

I've spent most of the time in the hospital leaving me none to spare in dressing up the way I usually do. So really, it's not my fault I'm only resorting in searching the web for these pieces.

A Karen Millen dress! Lovely isn't it?

I would kill for a kimono top like this...

Look at all those butterflies at the back. Sadly, I haven't seen this one in any of the Topshop stores here.

This One Language canvas bag. Stylish yet environment friendly. The inside of the bag, as you can see in the picture, is "...lined with signature handwritten inspirational quotes."

It shouldn't rain on holidays

It's Manila Day over here. And since the outpatient department closes during holidays, I don't get to come in at an ungodly hour at the hospital and plus, I had the luxury of sleeping in late. It kind of feels like I'm back at school when classes are suspended during holidays.

On the downside, it's been pouring here nonstop because of a tropical storm and the streets are quite flooded. I made plans to go out today with a friend but due to the unending rain, those plans went down the drain. All I'm doing since I got up was watch movies. Now, I'm updating my music list. It's been a while since I've done that. I feel like there's a bunch of new artists I haven't heard yet.

Long overdue

I've been meaning to update for quite awhile now but I've been busy with my recent graduation and taking care of the requirements for my internship that I've put it on hold. So much has happened in the past 4 months. I won't tell all of the boring details. That will take me a whole day to write about. Maybe in the future posts, I'll slip in a bit but not now. Certainly, not all.

In summary, here's what happened:
a. Survived my Internal Medicine rotation during my clerkship. Hell of a 2-month rotation, is what it is. Had fun with my co-clerk and our duty interns.
b. Passed my oral revalida. Almost didn't made it but thankfully, C was there to be my savior.
c. Graduated as part of the Quadrecentennial batch of UST. Added the title, M.D. at the end of my name.

Now, I have time to relax because majority of the country is observing the Holy Week. The malls and offices are closed. I've just read Beth Revis's Across the Universe and currently reading Lauren Oliver's Delirium. I'm also on the hunt for a decent camera, one that's like a digital SLR. Any recommendations are very much appreciated.

So that's me in a jiffy, what about you guys?

Happy 2011!

Happy New Year everyone! How did you spend the first day of 2011?

I spent mine in the hospital on 24-hour clerk duty. I wish I were at home instead together with my family. Mostly, I wanted to be with my grandmother on her 80th birthday and I know for a fact that all our relatives came to celebrate it with her. My mom told me in advance that she and my aunts and uncle were planning to gather at our house on the first of January and surprise my grandmother. I haven't asked her yet how that went but I'm guessing I missed out on a lot of fun.

Water for Elephants trailer

Another Rob Pattinson movie to look out for! Can't wait for this one. Haven't read the book yet but I have it here in my bookshelf. Can't find the time to read it anyways.

What do you think of his co-star? Think they'll have real on-screen chemistry? Although I am glad they picked a talented actress to star opposite him, I don't want the movie to suffer just because they don't have the chemistry. But I'm sure this movie will not be a box-office flop just as I'm sure that all RPattz fans will see this.

Holiday agenda: Facehunter

I saw this ad awhile ago in a website for a local bookstore when I was browsing through their books, ones I might buy for myself this Christmas. Ever since I first heard of Rodic's book coming out, I was always on the lookout for its release here in my country. And now, here it is! I hope I can get a copy when it comes out later in December. I also wish that there will be stocks in their other branches.

I don't want to order through my mom's friend again and wait for 2-3 months before it will arrive. I can't wait for that long. The newest iPod my sister and I ordered hasn't arrived yet. We had it shipped back in October at least and was told it would arrive by late November. Still not here. Status of package is unknown.

Love in a Life

Room after room,
I hunt the house through
We inhabit together.
Heart, fear nothing, for, heart, thou shalt find her—
Next time, herself!—not the trouble behind her
Left in the curtain, the couch’s perfume!
As she brushed it, the cornice-wreath blossomed anew;
Yon looking-glass gleamed at the wave of her feather.

Yet as the day wears,
And door succeeds door;
I try the fresh fortune—
Range the wide house from the wing to the centre.
Still the same chance! she goes out as I enter.
Spend my whole day in the quest,—who cares?
But ‘tis twilight, you see,—with such suites to explore,
Such closets to search, such alcoves to importune!

Panic for this week

by ann h.

Five more days until my written revalida. I'm panicking. I'm not yet ready. I don't think anyone from my batch is ready. I haven't even covered half of the subjects needed to be reviewed. The 5-day mini vacation I had last week somewhat helped. I met up several times with some classmates for a study session in different coffee shops (I dubbed our behavior, "coffeeshop - hopping"). And last Nov.8, when Harry Potter was first shown in the cinemas, we excused ourselves for a 3-hour break and watched it. (Insert fangirl moment here -- My God, was it awesome or was it really, really awesome? I can't wait for the second part which will be shown in 3D. Now that I'm going to see in IMAX.) So going back to what happened last week, I was pretty much busy inhaling coffee everyday, cooped up in my room and bent over my reviewers that sometimes I almost forget what time it is. Like last Saturday, I stayed up all night until 6:30 AM the following day. I hadn't realized it was morning already, not until when my parents got up and I saw my dad preparing his luggage for his 2-day meeting with a fellow businessman in Hong Kong.

So that's that. Will be studying more for now. Ta-ta!
